G-1: KEN Age 18. Hotshot pilot and leader of the Kagaku Ninjatai, Ken comes from a successful line of ISO agents. His mother was an ISO operative who retired when Ken was born (she died of illness when he was eleven), and Ken's father is none other than the leader of the Red Impulse squadron. Ken's latest incarnation has not changed much from the original save for a very short haircut and a quieter and more professional demeanor. Voice: Masaya Onozaka

G-2: JOE Age 19. Second in command and chief gunner of the team. Joe is every inch the Sicilian bad boy who exists only to take revenge on Gallactor. Joe's father, Giuseppe Asakura, had been a small-time Mafia money launderer until he ran afoul of the Syndicate and was eliminated along with his wife. Joe initially trained on his own, but was recruited by Nambu (who evidently had Mafia connections). On his left wrist next to his team bracelet Joe wears a "promise bracelet," which won't come off until he has fulfilled his vendetta. Voice: Koji Ishii

G-3: JUN Age 16. The Team's weapons expert, specializing in timed explosives. In her off time, Jun acts as the assistant manager of the Swan Lounge in the Bay Area Hotel, and works part time at the hotel as a swimming instructor. In the new novelization, Jun also took work as a model and a ballerina. Voice: Michiko Neya

G-4: JINPEI Age 10. A sharp hacker who specializes in picking locks and breaking passwords. Jinpei's true name and origin are unknown. He was "adopted" by Jun when he was very young. He earns spare change working for Jun at her bar and doing odd jobs at the hotel. His interests are chiefly basketball, skateboarding and teasing his sister. Voice: Rika Matsumoto

G-5: RYU Age 25. The team's strongman and pilot of the Godphoenix. In his off time, Ryu runs a yacht harbor called the "Boat House Dragon." An easygoing man whose interests are surfing and scuba diving. Voice: Fumihiko Tachiki

DR. KOZABUROU NAMBU Age 45. A technical genius in many fields, specializing in astrophysics. Head of the ISO and official opinion leader of the organization. Nambu's current project is the Mantle Plan, a project that involves using the heat and energy from the Earth's mantle as a power source. He also leads the "war of information" against the Gallactor Syndicate, and secretly runs the Kagaku Ninjatai and Red Impulse squadrons. Voice: Ikuya Sawaki

KENTARO WASHIO Leader of the Red Impulse fighter/ninja squadron. Kentaro started off as an ISO test pilot who was forced to desert his family as his duties increased. The last time he saw his wife and young son was at his wife's funeral.

BERG KATSE Age unknown. A mutant created by Sosai X to run the Gallactor Syndicate. Katse is a cruel, merciless and uncannily intelligent leader whose chief talents include disguise (changing shape and gender), telekinetic powers and possibly mind control. Voice: Kaneto Shiozawa

SOSAI X An alien entity that landed on Earth three million years ago. X is not terribly happy with the way Earth is turning out, and plans to wipe its inhabitants out so he can rebuild the world in his desired fashion. Voice: Nobuo Tanaka
