Gatcha-1 through Gatcha-5 of the "Gatchan-5"

With the assistance of an Earth woman named Rinrin, the five youngsters form a group called the Gatchan-5, and seek to become pop stars with their singing, dancing and sports performances. Their main entertainment activities include a variety program called "Gatcha X Gatcha" and a hit CD entitled, "Firebird Heart." They hope to impart their "smile energy" on the people of Earth and to raise enough money to repair their spaceship for the trip home. And while their at it, Dr. Ombu and Rinrin have consolidated their efforts into a business called "The Tatsunoko Baby Production Company." You can see some of their adventures doing promotions in four-panel comic strip format on the web site (Japanese only) #1-5 feature the Gatchan-5 and their less successful counterparts, the Galakure Trio.

Diinzumo's Comments: Tatsunoko is cashing in on the "super deformed" trend and reviving "baby" versions of all its famous characters from series past. It's cute and amusing, though I'm not sure how successful it has been in terms of merchandising.
