[Dr. Nambu] [Red Impulse] [Chief Anderson] [Berg Katse] [Sosai X]

[G-II & Fighter Characters]

Dr. Nambu

Nambu Hakase AKA: Professor Kozaburou Nambu (Nambu Hakase) (Gatchaman) Chief Anderson (BotP) Dr. Benjamin Brighthead (G-Force) Dr. Thaddeus Keane (Eagle Riders)
Nationality: Japanese
Age: 48
Occupation: Chief scientist and administrator for the International Science Organization (ISO), a powerful group that leads the war against the Gallactor Syndicate. Mentor/dispatcher/sponsor of the Kagaku Ninjatai.
Info: Nambu is a respected alumnus in several prestigious universities, including Harvard and Cambridge, and his field of expertise is astrophysics. He is a ruthless leader and a stern disciplinarian who is used to having his orders followed. Dr. Nambu adopted and most likely trained the five young people that became the Kagaku Ninjatai. He is physically and mentally much tougher than he appears.
Voice Actors: Oohira Tohru (Gatchaman); Sawaki Ikuya (Gatchaman 94); Alan Dinehart (BotP); Jan Rabison (G-Force); Greg OÕ Neill (Eagle Riders)

Leader of Red Impulse

Kentaro Washio AKA: Red Impulse/Kentaro Washio (Gatchaman, G-Force) Colonel Cronus (BotP), Harley Harris (Eagle Riders)
Nationality: Japanese
Age: Unknown
Occupation: Test pilot, spy for the ISO, and leader of the Red Impulse Squadron, a special task force of the ISO.
Info: Kentaro Washio is Ken's father. When Ken was four years old, Kentaro embarked on a very difficult mission: to spy on the Gallactor's longest-running operation, the V-2 Plan. In order to protect his identity, he faked his death in a plane crash and placed young Ken under the foster care of Dr. Nambu. He then took the identity of the Red Impulse leader, and acted as Ken's friend and rival. His true identity was revealed only moments before he was forced to embark on a suicide mission to save the Earth from the V-2 Plan--something that has left Ken extremely bitter. Kentaro is a headstrong, arrogant man who strongly believes in the concept of "tough love" when dealing with his son.
There are two other members in the Red Impulse Squadron: the tall, grim Oniishi, who was rendered mute by the Gallactors when he was a child; and the stocky, grizzled Masaki, a veteran pilot. Both meet a bullet-riddled demise at the end of the first series.

Chief Anderson

Anderson Chokan AKA: President Kane (BotP) Commander Todd (G-Force), Anderson (Eagle Riders)
Occupation: The head of the ISO, and a powerful political force in the United Nations. He is one of the few people Dr. Nambu defers to, and the only other man capable of giving orders to the Kagaku Ninjatai.

[Dr. Nambu] [Red Impulse] [Chief Anderson] [Berg Katse] [Sosai X] [G-II & Fighter Characters]

Berg Katse

Here's Katse AKA: Zoltar/Mala (BotP) Gallactor (G-Force), Lukan (Eagle Riders), Solaris (dubbed Gatchaman OAV)
Nationality: Unknown
Age: Unknown
Specialties: A master of disguise and subterfuge, full of tricks and hidden bombs. A superb escape artist.
Info: Katse is a mutant, created when Sosai X merged male and female twins in their mother's womb. As a result, Katse can shift genders, and spent years transferring between schools (due to a yearly gender change) until he/she gained control over this ability. In female mode, Katse is said to have an IQ of over 280 (and is sometimes seen in the series as the Female General, or Mala in Battle of the Planets). Katse may also be able to change shape. Katse managed to keep his/her identity secret throughout most of the series until Dr. Nambu dug up some old school records and documentation, then fit the puzzle pieces together.
Voice Actors: Terashima Mikio (Gatchaman); Kaneto Shiozawa (Gatchaman '94); Keye Luke (BotP); Bill Capizzi (G-Force)

Sosai ("Generalissimo") X

The X File (sorry) AKA: "The Great Spirit"/"The Luminous One" (BotP) Computor (G-Force), Lord Zortek (dubbed Gatchaman OAV)
Info: Sosai X is from the world Selectoru in the Andromeda Galaxy. It is said that he has been dormant on Earth for thousands of years. He is responsible for the creation of Berg Katse and the takeover of Gallactor (which was believed to have started out as a Mafia organization). His primary goal was the takeover of Earth for the use of his people, but when he discovered that his world had been destroyed, he decided to take out his frustrations and destroy the Earth instead, using the ISO's Mantle Plan (a plan to tap energy from the Earth's mantle layer) and warping it into the Black Hole Operation.
Despite his high IQ, he has the emotional maturity of a child, and enjoys bullying Katse and his followers.
Voice Actors: Tanaka Nobuo (Gatchaman, Gatchaman '94); Keye Luke (BotP); Peter Spellos (Eagle Riders)
